All creation being of a divine inspiration, there are still levels of development for consciousness to partake of, and not all development is equal or directed into the same venue of expression. We are not all in the same classroom but different classrooms experiencing different teachings and applying these to the expression of our consciousness.
Some make the point that though anyone can say "God told me to write this" the mere saying of it doesn't make it so. Except for the fact that God or the "Oneness of all things" or "The all that Is" is just that.
I am writing of those who channel discarnate entities in this regard. Spiritual communication isn't as pure in motivation and intent as our limited mind and unlimited ignorance and innocence would like to admit.
Just because it comes from a "discarnate" source by no means infers a "divine" source. By "divine" I mean that of the commonly accepted version of a great and loving, all encompassing consciousness, that has come to be believed and understood as GOD.
Even and especially if the discarnate source claims to be God. This is regardless of the culture one is raised in or the standards of society as similar communications have occurred across cultural and societal boundaries and time lines.
Out of body experiences can allow one to experience some of these issues directly.
In the OBE state go into a bar some time and see what hovers around the people imbibing the alcohol. See what "influences" are there to help that man have "just one more". This can give a person a whole new idea of channeling and spiritual communications. This kind of discernment towards spiritual interaction is also backed up by a man named Alan Kardec whose books regarding medium ship and spiritual communications outline some "rules of engagement".

Merely my take on it and I do not mean to cause any hurt to those who take these channel's literally. That is another school about discernment. blessings all - chrism
