We all have the dark side in us. We all have the need for this within us and it does serve a good purpose. It helps us to survive and compete and flourish in the midst of harsh and unforgiving conditions social or environmental.
With the Kundalini and often in normal life the opportunity to be a vicious, mean and tormenting individual comes as an option. A choice presented to us in a way that can advance or hold us from advancement with in an evolutionary concept of spiritual growth.
We can choose. And of course the consequences of that choice will bear fruit and that fruit will be eaten by the person who makes the choice, and whether it is sweet or bitter is up to the person. This concept can be extremely amplified with the Kundalini. And the balancing may not occur until you die. So I teach the idea of making the choice towards a love based option being taken.
This doesn't thwart the dark side from expressing but it channels that energy into a more constructive and helpful way. While keeping its integrity intact. By that I mean its need to be dark and expressive of the qualities that make it a natural force for survival.
We are surrounded with destruction here on this world. Look at nature and how a cat will play with a mouse to the death without eating it. Or an orca will flip a seal high into the air without consuming it. Destruction is a fact of existence here. Pain and hurt and sickness and disaster are constant companions here. It's not an easy place to live.
Love is a conscious choice that is made. The dark side will provide the birth of a being but the love is of a more eternal survival and yet supra-survival option. And it is an option even with children. Ask anyone who has been abused if this is not so.
I see the dark side options as being tests of character. Tests from the divine within gauging the appropriate responses the lower mind attaches to. It is a simple formula: Express love and consideration and helpfulness and you advance. Express hate and guilt and fear and you do not advance. The stone needs more polishing.
These qualities are not always what they seem though. And great care needs to be given in how you express them. Your culture and your understanding of social expectation will play into this. These factors will flavor your responses. Yet there is still a clear delineation between hateful, hurtful, tormenting and loving, helpful, beneficence.
I choose the latter. By that choice - each and every time - am I given the sweet fruit, my personality makes it tart as well though - lol - blessings - chrism
